LEADING BY EXAMPLE
Creating a culture of safety starts at the top. We know that an effective safety program depends on leadership setting the example. And to be truly successful, we engage all levels of management, seek feedback from employees and stakeholders, take part in continuous training, and make sure that everyone is part of a shared accountability to safety and welfare.
DTC is committed to the belief that every accident, and therefore every injury, is preventable. We embed this philosophy into everything we do. Through our dedicated efforts we have consistently maintained this commitment to safety.
At DTC, we care about environmental performance, social responsibility, the health and safety of our employees, and solid business management and processes. By integrating these principles into all aspects of how our business is conducted, we not only better manage risks and opportunities, but also meet the evolving needs of our internal and external stakeholders.
360 SAFETY PROGRAM
CONTINUOUS COMMITMENT
CULTURE BASED & RISK BASED ACTIVITIES
Our safety program is composed of both culture and risk based activities that we perform on a daily, weekly, monthly, and ongoing basis.
Due to the potentially dangerous nature of our work, we surround ourselves in layers of proactive safety strategies and forward-thinking planning, including hazard mitigation. We embrace a behavioral-based safety program, planning processes at the individual task level; performing regular safety assessments; and striving to continually improve training and to establish a workable protocol.
A primary goal of DTC and all partners we work with is to eliminate or control both known and potential safety and health hazards that our associates face on the job.

Safety Guidelines
- Safety and health are a shared responsibility. Everyone from top management to supervisors, to each and every worker must take ownership of his or her own safety and that of their co-workers.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment is not just an idea – it is a top priority.
- It is everyone’s job to spot hazards and to correct them or report them in a timely manner.
- Where hazards cannot be completely eliminated, they must be reduced through engineering or administrative controls or, as a final precaution, through the proper use of personal equipment.
- Every individual will be trained to perform work safely. Should an individual feel inadequately trained to perform a certain procedure, he or she will immediately discuss the problem with his or her supervisor.
- As a condition of employment, each associate must consistently work in a safe manner.
A CENTURY OF SERVICE
It takes great service to build a company that can last. Distributors Terminal Corporation (DTC) has lasted for over 100 years, continuously managed and operated by the Hendricks family for more than four decades. We’re extremely proud of our longevity and look forward to the next century of service.
